MeelisFotography’s blog…

I think it is important that we all grow, adapt and adjust to changes in the world and in our lives.

There are really three reasons to do this blog:

  • My future work as web developer designer is making it necessary and useful to do. I am excited that part of this work takes me back to earlier times where nature, science, writing and photography all came together for me. This includes starting up a YouTube channel on helping folks better understand the wonder and the science of nature and biology. I will let people know more about this on Facebook as I launch this later this fall.
  • My work has long been about using visuals and words to communicate about our world, including photography, especially nature, but also about many other cool things I have been awed by. There is a lot today about photography on the Internet and in classes all over the place, everything from great to mediocre. However, much of it has lost the “communicate about the world” idea and simply is about impressing or trying to impress other photographers than seeing and connecting with the real world. It is photography about photography, making it a “inbred” for my interests.  I know that is fun for a lot of people, and I wish them all the best, but it is not for me.
  • I have worked over the years doing so much how-to stuff that I have neglected at times who I really am and my deeper interests, so I need to honor those things.

Thanks to everyone who has read and followed my blog! I will still post to Facebook, including some behind the photography thoughts, and I will send occasional photo how-to ideas to my email list.

About Meeli Loite Sonn

I’m Meeli Loite Sonn and my mission is to connect people and nature through photography with celebration and joy. Nature photography, for me, is about finding ways to create meaning and joy in photography and connecting people with the natural world. I consider myself a naturalist, nature photographer and videographer. I have been busy over the years creating many books related to Nature and photography. I have worked as a teacher of Geography and Biology and workshop leader, and I am a Fellow with the Natural Geography Association. I was the editor of the TEA Encyclopedia and presently I am a owner of AmEe company, which is selling Photography books and translating, publishing, writing books. My education is both as a photographer and a naturalist specializing in ecology and botany and geography. When I look back at photographs, they allow me to re-live certain parts of my life that I will never be able to replicate again, and I’m beyond grateful to have them. Photographs have the incredible power to make me feel happy, excited, reflective, proud, thankful, peaceful, and an abundance of love. When I photograph weddings, I’m able to capture the exact moment and the flood of emotions a groom expresses when he sees how stunning his bride is walking down that aisle. As a photographer, I can feel in my soul how lucky, excited and proud he is to be standing in his position. It is a tremendous honor to allow my clients to permanently cherish these significant times. I’m able to see the world in a unique way. I feel I have been given the gift to see beauty in everything and everyone because I’m sensitive, observant and very empathetic. I notice the details others may be oblivious to wherever I go, such as a single ray of light shining through the clouds onto the mountain, which brings me peace; the cutest tiny dimple on a smiling face; the privileged way a guy looks at his lady when she isn’t paying attention, because she’s the reason he’s encouraged to be his best every day. I read facial expressions and know exactly how someone’s feeling. I put myself in others shoes all the time because I treat others how I’d like to be treated and I love relating to people. I get so excited  for the moments when all the stars align. I think this one is the biggest fuel to my passion. I have a big heart and nothing lights me up more than when all the circumstances in a situation line up perfectly, from the lighting, to the natural emotion emanating out of my clients faces, to the overall ambiance and the intense surge of inspiration it all gives me. I live for the moments that make my heart race.

Hello Meeli; I see you have added many new photographs. Cool. The zoom-in shots of the various animals are very nice. I’d like to see more of those types here on your Website, please. Keep up the good work!

The ED caused by that surgery might be either temporary or permanent. However, it is important to have the doctor’s opinion first before you take these oral medications because they would have negative side effects about the body.
